About Us

We are a nondenominational, non-profit nursery school, located in Shelburne Village.  We were 

established in 1956 and have been open continuously since.  The Shelburne Nursery School is a family cooperative.  We rely on the energy, enthusiasm and good will of our families to keep the school operating and to keep tuition as low as practical.  Family involvement creates an amazing sense of community and we look forward to continuing that tradition.

Community

We pride ourselves on creating a community in which children, their parents, and our committed and highly experienced teaching staff come together to create the optimal environment to introduce young children to learning.

Mission

The Shelburne Nursery School's mission is to provide a safe and nurturing environment, which encourages children to develop socially, emotionally, intellectually and physically.

Education

Preschool children learn through play and experiences.  Our school's experienced teachers offer a variety of ways for children to explore and engage.  There is time as a large group and small groups.
